Hey all.. a new thread to look at! What ways have you guys been making and applying the spiders?
I read that i think .. germanspider(dunno if thats the name) was using foam sheets and applying that on for the front. What are your opinions on how this looks?
How have people been making the back spiders?
And how have you been attaching them to the suits?
In addition, it would be nice if we could post up spider designs.

c'mon people... theres gotta be something... i read from SSH that there was a insignia on the back of one of the soundtracks? For that matter... it seemed that some people posted their designs on the pages at least at some point. none actually showed up for me though ... any input about the material of choice and how to apply it?

I'll see what images I can dig up. My chest spider was made by Ludakris based from a screen capture of a spidey screen saver and is made from black latex. I hope that makes sense. I glued it on with super glue. The back spider is red lyrca and sewn on. ;D Here are 2 back Spiders. Not sure who made them. They were posted on SHH boards a while ago.

hey guys... just wanted to post up my chest spider and get some opinions The left one was the first i made. The right was made later and thus a bit cleaner... but i still like the first one a bit... anyway, these are made out of foam which im not sure about. Do you guys have recommendations on a different material? Or maybe should i apply some deeper black paint on to the foam or something?

oh... and if i were to go with the foam, do you guys think it'll hold ok to the suit if i apply it on with some super glue? Any suggestions?

I used superglue to stick my latex chest spider on. As with all costumes, it will require a little TLC every once and a while.

What about screen printing them on?

What about screen printing them on? Screen printing would work fine. Wouldnt have to worry about glue. Most of us seem to be trying to make the Sony style suit at the moment, which uses a latex spider and therefore requires glue. ;D

I'm not an expert on latex but I believe it comes white in its plain state. Just add a water based black paint to it and give it a good stir. Let it sit over night in an air tight container so the bubbles come out then poor onto something smooth and flat like a piece of glass. After it drys just peel it off and trace a spider onto it. Then cut using sharp scissors.

Yeah you can just buy a bottle of latex and add black acrylic paint and shake till mixed and pour it on to somthing smooth like glass and level it out with something with a straight edge let it dry for a couple of days then peel it off and let it sit for another few days to let it shink and then you can trace your spider and cut it out and you can do the same for the back spider hope that helps dude ;D
