Ok, the PERFECT SUIT thread is getting hella clogged. Please don't think I am trying to take over the joint, but let's get organized! ;D
Could someone please tell me all about the materials used for the suit, and how they are put together! I saw a muscle shading pattern posted in the main thread that showed kinda how it was cut... I imagine just connect the edges and sew them? Let's get some tutorials going!

Very Nicely Organized Mr Batcave. This is the Sony pattern with coloring by Jawa. Ollie has based his suit on this pattern. Myself and a few others are using the red parts but have made our own blue parts. The Sony pattern is missing bricks on all the blue parts that arent highlighted for muscle definition. The fabric used for Spiderman II was call Miliskin I believe. www.spidey4fun.ncable.net.au ;D

Yes, the original was indeed miliskin.

And what do YOU guys all use for your suits? You all use Miliskin, also? I am wondering because I am going to expand my screen printing business soon to include dye sublimation, and need to try out the fabrics to see how well it will work with that I have. There are 100 different kinds of sublimation inks, and I want to test them all to see which one will work the best.

Very nice Nayef. The full brickwork pattern looks great. I believe you'll be the first to complete a suit using Sony's red pattern and a full brickwork blue pattern.
Well done buddy. ;D
Just curious, how did you decide to attach the legs to the body in that particular postion?
I'm thinking of doing the same but dont want them too high or low.

so im assuming most people here have the material printed on a spandex-like material. How exactly should this material be sewn? I read somewhere that a serger should be used. If we don't have that, how could we use a normal sewing machine? Any special technique? special needle or thread? any help would be much appreciated!

You guys are ARTISTS. This is amazing. There is so much going on here on just ONE suit, it is amazing. I will NEVER try to make my own. I am going to.... trade for one here in the next few months. Anybody want to rent a Batmobile for a suit?

Hi Elurew,
Yep a serger is the best. Twin needle with cutting blade. That way you have a nice solid stitch that stretches and has a clean edge.
That's how I made my first suit.
cheers ;D

Both my '89 AND my '66 should be done in 6-12 months or so. I would be happy to lend it out for a weekend if someone wanted to make me a suit. Seeing as how these things rent out for around $1K per day, seems fair?

See that would be a tease to me though. I would have trouble letting go of it . I hope to build my own. I would be willing to trade 2 suits for a unfinished body kit (just the fiberglass peices). Cuz I would never have the time to build that part of it.
