i don't know when the poll was started but id say go ahed and lock it now. most everyone (unlike me) has a better mind at getting in shape and wanting to do the superhero thing. i myself just can't see that for myself anymore. I'm sorry if i bothered anybody with the idea. i found out i start out this month at 324 pounds again not even losing one pound from january. im going into my void were i belong. no one needs a depressed 33 year old guy to drag everyone else down

Lar feeling sorry for yourself wont help you shed pounds ;D. I for one think this would be a good thread because like most other people I don't have the perfect spider body. So does anyone have any suggestions on building up leg mass? I have had six knee surgeries and the atrafee is horrible.

well bugeyed this is just some simple advice. if your able to work out in a gym, you can build up leg mass by doing the leg press, then a set of leg curls, and then a set of leg extentions. they have different machine for those different exercise. at home you could do a set of right front lunges with your right leg, and alternate that with you left leg. or you could do some some simple knees bends but it realy depends on how much you can move your legs after all those knee surgeries. i myself really not in shape for spidey, but think i can get in superhero (or spidey shape). although i need to come up with an overall body and diet makeover plan, which i dont try to take it on all at once. so im better but i had a very scary moment for monday and tuesday with my help. so ive got to really do something and be so much better to myself

for now i'm going to just watch over certain spidey boards and be done with the weight loss goals i have for the time being. I see that I'm only kidding myself when it come to the goals i need to meet. I weighed myself after maybe two or three weeks later (that be like in february) and today i weigh a whopping 332 pounds. i'm going even futher up the scale, then i ever did before. i can't do this hero thing anymore. much less try to make myself a better person. i hate the fact that the deperate help i need now is going to cost me and arm and a leg. (unless my fat costs my life first) I'll be a very lucky guy if i make it to 34 years old. so you guys do what you see fit to this board. i'll chime in if i see the need

I think this is actually a pretty good idea. The sad truth is, MOST superhero fans are balding middle aged fat guys. Please don't take that the wrong way, but its true. The one thing I learned from dealing with Batmobile replica owners is that is is fat balding middle aged guys who generally are interested in the cars, too! lol. So here is the thing. I do many many things in my life. I own a screen printing business, and when I am not printing in the morning I am a gymnastics coach in the afternoon, 6 days a week. I coach all levels and I get a LOT of private lessons who want to get their butts whipped into shape. See, after coaching for 2 years, I joined the Army and got my Ranger scroll and even trained with the Green Berets for 6 months before I got kicked out after abad parachute malfunction. I went back to coaching gymnastics, and before I started the screen printing company, I opened an Energy / Weight Loss store at the local mall where I live in Southern California (I later sold that business to open the screen printing business). So here is the point: I am a former Army Ranger. I owned and Energy / Weight Loss store in the mall. I have been a gymnastics coach for several years. I am at your service.

Hey Justin, Who you calling Fat.....bald yes...fat...I dont think so...LOL. Hey you coach gymnastics as well. That to seems to be a common past time among some spidey fans too. I've been coaching for the past 15 years. Check out one of my spidey moves. www.geelong.ymca.org.au/MPEG/aerial.mpg ;D

Cool! Do you use your skills in your shows? I do not tumble much anymore. After the parachute malfunction, my knees don't really appreciate the abuse. I spend most of my time doing competitive trampoline. It's a blast! I'll try to post a video clip soon. I wish I had a spidey costume to bounce in... Where do you coach at? I am at Baldy View Gymnastics in Upland, Ca. I am actually planning on starting a gym sometime next year. Or buying the one I work at. Check out my main site www.walkerassociated.com and click on Xtreme Gymnastics Training. I plan on adding much more to it soon, including tutorials.

I am a newbie here, but I would be interested in a Spidey workout. I think that would rock

Gabriel here. Chiming in. Another ex-gymnastics coach. I am in Northern CA. I'm back in training. Have a couple of months to get into the Spiderman shape.
Anyone willing to post their physical stats? Just to see how many in here are close to their goal Spiderman shape.
I'll start. 5'10" 185lbs training down to 170lbs. 32" waist, training down to 30" waist. Trying to get that ripped athletic look more than my bodybuilding days. I am down from my 195lbs 38" waistline from a year ago.
Remember folks, muscle weighs more than fat. SO don't just use weight to judge weight loss. Also, give yourself some realistic goals. Monthly goals, 6 month goals, and yearly goals. We are rooting for you.
And it does get worse before it gets better. Your body does need an adjustment period to adapt to what you want it to do.
Good luck to everyone.

What do people think IS the perfect Spiderman shape? Marvel had him listed as Height: 5 ft. 10 in. Weight: 165 lbs. Eyes: Hazel Hair: Brown www.marveldirectory.com/individuals/s/spiderman.htmThat woul make him less muscular looking than the movie version. Especially at that height.

that's cool nytefrye. i'm in chico, ca. your alot closer to me then you are los angeles. in any case i'm like 5 feet 8 inches tall and want to get down to 175 pounds like i was back in high school and a 36 inch waist. i would love to be close to that, as long as i somewhat lean and muscular a bit (just right for a superhero look, spidey being one of my favorites) i should be close to that weight according to weight charts and my large frame. though the sad truth is that i'm at 338 pounds and seem to be getting larger ever week. i don't think i'll ever get close to a desirable weight being 33 years old. my bad eating habits, my bad cholesterol levels, my energy level, my high tryglyceride levels, my high blood pressure and how i feel about myself overall are all bad things going for me. the good things for me are walking and the fact that i don't have diabeties. so im not sure whats going to happen at my doctor appointment next week. (my doctor not sure what he could do for me at my last appointment in january) im also not sure where to set my goals at either. (it seems like i need quite a bit of money i don't have, to see the professionals i probably need to see) i feel like just crawling back into bed, with being quite a bit depressed right now. i feel like i keeping going on with life somehow (from the in and the out) but feel like im done with the battle from both points of view and not sure anymore if i have a chance at all to turn the tides. i would like to in a year and a half for my 35 birthday.
