Hi gang,
I wanted to take a minute and intro myself and let everyone know that I will be happy to pass on any advice that can be of any assistance to anyone. I have been working for Marvel for the past 6 years as an appearance actor (as Spidey) as well as compete as a natural bodybuilder. So if I can offer any insight on what has worked for me, please let me know.

Larthelad...I work in the fitness industry so I get paid to keep fit and havent had a problem with too much excess weight...although I am getting older and my 32" waist is slowly growing. But the key to everything is dedication. And dedication comes from within. You will reach your target goal if your truely dedicated. Im sure you've read heaps of books and have loads of information on exercise and diet. So im guessing you know what you have to do.....my advice is find a training partner. Someone who has the same goals as you. Set a routine...and stick to it. And make sure to tell your training partner to be hard on you as your going to be hard on him/her if they break the routine.
Success comes from within.
;D

sorry for the non- update in a long time. im still in a process of a long struggle, that i think the extra wieght is still winning. it like a very big yo yo affect (with the force that pulls me to the heavier side is winning) I maybe be down to 340 pounds after 3 weeks but I should of been down to 338 pounds (even 336 pounds) though my goals each week seem at a stretch still. I'm now up to maybe four glasses at water at best though (maybe 6 at times, summer heat though has dicated the need to drink water though.) i'm so very much still addicted to sugar, seems like ill never get far enough away from it, to beat its addiction. hopefully in the next couple of weeks ill have things better in place (thankfully i'll have more money to deal with plans) i just wanted to let everyone know i'm still alive

Hi Lar, Glad to here you're working at your goal. I've got two suggestions for your quest. Keep up with the 8 glasses of water and stay away from the sugars and any salt you may add to your food. The sugar and salt thing will be hard for the 1st two weeks, but you will come to find that you don't miss it. Example, I love unsweetened ice tea. Two, you've got to believe in yourself to achieve superhero things in life. There are two good books out there on the market that deal with self esteem, setting your goals and achieving them. For example, after reading Eric's book I am more than committed to finishing what I started, 'an advanced degree in engineering'. Here are the books. I hope they help you in your quest. --“The Power of Positive Thinking" by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale www.enotalone.com/books/0517084724.html-- "Knight Seeker" by Eric M. Hey Urban I had no idea that I had that much of an impact on you, but it seems to be doing the same with the other people that have surrounded me. I just got back from San Digo Comic Con, and man I had a good time. Got some nice pics taken, and hoping to have Knight Seeker in the mist bu Dragon Con this year. Larz and to all the rest, you have to focus on what your goals are dispite all the negitive around you. If you truely want something in life bad enough you will get close as humanly possible to it, the rest I say leave up to God himself. Have faith in your inner spirit. No one can fit the fight for you, but people can support you. Hold fast to what you hold closest to your heart, and if it honors your maker than you will come out on top. Some pics from San Diego Comic Con, trying to stay in shape here ;D

great pics, guys and thanks for the words of wisdom. i'm also still jealous of evryone who has a suit lol I'm still here dealing with slow connection problems because of the phone line problems lately. i have had to resort to downloading a earlier version of aol (aol 5.0 to be exact) just so i connect and respond. i have to say trying to get to hero status is harder then i realized. I seem to still be gaining the same weight i've been trying to lose for weeks. my doc and I try and make a plan then along the way it seems to fall apart. after all i need to be taking medicines that I don't have and eating better (which i am still struggling to do, even though i have the mindset for it.) i always seem to have life to deal with like money, food, emotional, and taking care of myself first. so its seem like every time i get so close to a breakthru, i seem to get it knocked away from me. i feel like life is being a bit unfair to me but then people say life is unfair. so i dont know what to say at this point. i guess my new life is meant to happen. i feel like though that this new lide just isn't ready for me to get a grasp on. i guess maybe some higher power might still be making it work perfect for me.

Lars, I'm giving you a website that I have used for my food planning. You can choose between low carb, regular (which is considered low fat), vegetarian, frugal, etc.
For a minimal cost, they send you a weekly email with 6 dinners and the grocery list. The recipes are easy. I usually spend less than 30 minutes making supper. I then use the leftovers for my lunch the next day. A lot of people say how they've also noticed their food bill go down when making these recipes.
Over the last 7 months, I wasn't able to excercise due to some health related issues. I've finally been given clearance by my cardiologist to start running again. YEAH!!!!!!!! However, I only gained a couple of pounds over the last 7 months because I chose to eat well - and a lot of my meals came from this place.
Good luck.
Website is www (dot) savingdinner (dot) com.

okay, so now for an update (or lack there of). I'm sorry to report but there still hasn't been enough of a change in my weight to support my healthy lifestyle. So I am going to have to put the issue on the back burner for awhile, so I can help out my aunt and uncle. I have to help my aunt and uncle run errands for their needs. For my aunt needs me to be her driver and my uncle needs my car to get to appointment with his broken left ankle right now So the way I see it, I guess I have other things to be dedicated to for now. I can't get anyone (here in chico calif anyway) to see my point of view in my way or what I need. I feel you all that are online friends can see my point of view. no matter how obscure, twisted or stupid it might be. I hope I can make it thru life for the time being until a clear path can be achieved. Venture where you must my online friends.

Yes I know there hasnt been an update in awhile but luck for me I saved it for Labor day. I'm down to 332 pounds which from my last couple of plateaus is good. I've had struggles to deal with. (for more details check out my journal at) journals.aol.com/lsqard916/TheInventionOfLife/ Somehow though in the last 3 days, I would have to say that I've turned things around for myself. I guess I've been working at my healthy life (although that work could be stronger and better) Also I seem to do more when I pay the least amount of attention to it (I guess not quitting and still doing at least on of my one hour daily walks, must be doing something too) So I'll try and struggle with making new plans and get this momentum I've had lately going in a new strong direction foward. Venture your ideas foward to this thread or my journal. Lets all keep this moving in the right direction. Also I send out my heartfelt sympathies to the victims of Hurricane Katrina

Cool Pics Urban ;D I think the way I was think of roadwork is how I'm planning to lay things out to go toward the right direction. Food And I are going to have the hardest battle between us. I hope I win in the end. Although I still have my battles with the finances. Anyway, keep up the great work Urban.
Also Urban, I'm just being funny but are you sure your not Knightseeker's twin brother? You two almost seem like you have about the same great body compostion. How jealous I'm still of all you spideys on the forum.
